Sourcing
Know where the ingredients come from.
We carefully select the botanical oils, butters and extracts used in our formulations.
Whenever possible, we want to know where an ingredient comes from, how it is produced and what role it plays in the final formula.
Our focus is not on collecting as many ingredients as possible. It is on finding the right ingredient for the right formula.
We are continuously working to improve the traceability of our raw materials and to make more sourcing information available.

Ingredients
Every ingredient has a reason.
We believe a good formula doesn't need to hide behind a long ingredient list.
Our products are built around carefully selected plant oils, butters and botanical extracts.
The complete INCI ingredient list is provided on the product packaging and on the corresponding product page in the CannaBea store.
We also explain individual ingredients in our knowledge base, so you can understand not only their names, but also why they are used in a particular type of formulation.
If an ingredient is there, there should be a reason for it.

Formulation
Simple where possible. Precise where necessary.
Our formulations are developed with everyday use in mind.
We look for a balance between botanical ingredients, texture, stability, preservation and a pleasant application experience.
We don't believe that a product becomes better simply because it contains more ingredients.
At the same time, we don't believe that every synthetic ingredient is automatically bad.
For example, a water-containing cosmetic may require a suitable preservative system to remain microbiologically safe during its intended use.
When an ingredient is necessary, we would rather explain it than hide it behind the word ‘natural’.

Testing & safety
Safety comes before the story.
Cosmetic products placed on the European market are subject to specific safety and regulatory requirements.
Before a cosmetic product is placed on the market, it must undergo the applicable safety assessment.
Our approach is simple: formulate responsibly, test appropriately and communicate honestly.
The hemp extract used across the CANNAEAST range has also been analysed by an independent laboratory.
The currently published laboratory results are shown below.

Production
Made in Europe.
CANNAEAST products are produced in Europe in accordance with the requirements applicable to cosmetic products placed on the EU market.
We work with manufacturing and formulation processes designed to deliver consistent products from batch to batch.
Quality isn't something that should exist only in a laboratory report.
It should also be reflected in the way a product is formulated, manufactured, filled, packaged and stored.
Where information can be verified, we publish it.
Where information is still being verified, we don't pretend otherwise.

Packaging
The product is only part of the story.
Packaging protects the formula, keeps the product usable and provides important information about ingredients, directions and responsible use.
We therefore consider packaging as part of the overall product experience — not simply as decoration.
We aim to use packaging that is practical, appropriate for the formulation and increasingly conscious of material use and recyclability.
As our packaging evolves, we will continue to make relevant material information available.
