Ingredient

Natural Oils

Carrier oils and butters that make up the base of most balms, creams and body oils.

Natural Oils

What is it?

Carrier oils are pressed from seeds, nuts or fruit. They form the body of a topical product and carry the other ingredients.

Butters such as shea or cocoa are simply oils that are solid at room temperature.

Why we use it

The choice of oil determines how a product feels: how quickly it absorbs, how rich it is, how it spreads.

Oils are usually the first ingredients on a balm's list, because they make up most of the formula.
